President & Chief Executive Officer
Under the leadership of our Chief Executive Officer, Chief Marcus D. Williams, is a decorated, former Chief of Police in Florida’s Panhandle and in South Coastal Georgia. Chief Williams previously served as Vice President of the Georgia’s Secondary Schools Law Enforcement Executives Association (School board police chief’s statewide) where he developed and coordinated a mirrored strategic safety policy for ALL schools within the State of Georgia and served as a grant writer, accreditation manager and terminal agency coordinator in Florida & Georgia for the National Crime Information Center.
Chief began his career as a sworn police officer at Savannah State University 20 years ago, later transitioning into a municipal police officer, county sheriff’s deputy and ultimately creating a school board-based police agency for McIntosh County (Georgia) Board of Education, accepting the Chief of Police Position (2007-2010).
In 2010, Chief relocated to Jacksonville, Florida and accepted a Dayshift Commander Position with the Florida State College of Jacksonville’s Department of Public Safety in downtown Jacksonville. Chief completed the necessary requirements to become a Florida Certified Law Enforcement Officer and accepted the Chief of Police Position in the City of Midway, Florida again accepting the challenge of creating a municipal police agency from its initial stage. Today, the police department is still standing and soaring.
Upon ending his law enforcement career with years ahead of him, our innovative Chief created Protective Enterprises Public Safety in 2014 and continued to excel with a passion of providing professional, reliable service. Today, our firm is recognized as a model agency, accepting multiple urban core residential communities in Jacksonville and throughout the State of Florida. We partner with ownership and property management to restore order and empower residents through education, literature, rule enforcement and fostering a reduction in crime trends by 62%. Chief is a past president of the North East Florida Security Association, term 2018-2020. Overseeing and mentoring security agencies in the North East Florida region, Chief Williams dually serves as the Director of Campus Safety & Security at Edward Waters University, Florida first HBCU (Historically Black College & University).
Within the security industry, Chief has obtained his unarmed, armed, security training instructor and security agency manager credentials & licensure.
